HB 2779

The Legal Arizona Workers Act (HB 2779) imposes penalties, including a loss of state licenses, on employers who knowingly or intentionally hire undocumented workers in the state. The new law, which goes into effect January 1, 2008, also requires all employers to utilize the Federal E-Verify Employment Elegibility Verification System for the purpose of verifying the work authorization of new employees hired after January 1, 2008.
